We have been commissioned to perform the installation of the ‘Gift Horse’ by Hans Haacke at the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square.

The project involved the import from New York of the sculpture in a sea container and assembly at our Central London warehouse under the supervision of technicians from the gallery and the artist. We designed an outer structure to enable lifting of the sculpture into place on site and the bolting system to secure the sculpture in place. The installation involved  transportation to Trafalgar Square using a low-loading trailer vehicle and lifting with a 30 tonne crane. The area needed fencing and security during this operation and the paving needed protecting. The pertinent permits and traffic controls to allow for the entry and exit of the vehicles were arranged with the GLC.
